Keeping relaxed - or gifts for a chilled out mama!
Pregnancy is the most amazing time, but it can be quite stressful, just at the point when you need to be really relaxed, both for your own health and the baby's. So, here's some treats for her to show her that you want her to feel chilled out during this amazing time.
And breathe...gifts to help her take a deep breath and relax
Yoga and pilates get recommended for mums to be, as they are gentle, keep the muscles in great shape, and it's a very relaxing way to spend an hour. If she doesn't want to get to a class, or wants to get some extra stretching in at home, then Pregnancy Health Yoga by Tara Lee may be just the thing.
Perhaps she just needs some time out to just kick back and not do much at all. Well, this aptly named CD, Pregnancy, provides just the soundtrack to do that. Whether she uses it just for taking some time out, or for drifting off at night, it'll definitely be a relaxed moment out of her day for her.
Perhaps this is the moment in her life for her to take up meditation. Well known for it's relaxing qualities, it stills the mind of daily chatter, which it's bound to be full of when you're expecting! This 3 CD Essential Guide to Mediation will guide her through it and help her to get the most from it.
Whether she just wants to kick back and chill, or have something relaxing for the labour room, then we think Voices from Classic FM could be the thing. A combination of relaxing and uplifting choral work, this will keep her spirits up and, hopefully, her blood pressure down!

Keeping Active and Keeping Chilled
If she's really taken to her yoga, or pilates, then give her a great looking mat to take along with her. We love this pretty and colourful mat from Sweaty Betty. It's got good cushioning and grip, and comes with a strap that clips round it, so easy to sling across her shoulder for carrying to and from class.
I remember a balance ball being an absolute godsend in the later stages of my pregnancy, when it was about the most comfortable place to sit! Great for sitting and for gently working on core muscles before and after the birth. This one comes with a DVD to show great exercises as well for when she wants to think about working her muscles again!
And talking of trying to get comfy, in the late stages of pregnancy this maternity support pillow is really helpful to help her get a good night's sleep. Recommended by midwives, it also helps to get the baby into the optimum position for birth. It also makes a great support cushion after the birth for either when she's breastfeeding or either of you are giving the baby a bottle. A good useful gift all round then!
Thinking ahead to the birth itself, she may well find a TENS machine useful for managing the pain. The Babycare Elle TENS offers the latest technology, has all the settings pre-set so no last minute worries about getting it set up, and has opti-max technology for the all important surge of power just when she'll need it the most! Don't forget to order the skin prep and electrodes, and let her know that you want to try and do what you can to help.

Blooming Beautiful - gifts for a beautiful pregnancy
The time when it's most difficult to believe all those stories about blooming in pregnancy is when you spend every morning clinging to the toilet bowl. Not a lot you can do to help, but perhaps this Morning Sickness Super Saver from Mum's The Word will show your empathy. Brew her up a cup of Earth Mama Morning Wellness Tea, which contains ginger, the godsend for nauseous mums to be. She'll find Muti's Morning Sickness Relief Stick really convenient to carry round and put on her pulse points when she feels off colour. Oh, and she can try the Ginger and Orange Discreet Sweets from the Apothecary's Garden, which should help. Just don't keep saying it will pass!
If you've bought her some of those relaxing CDs, you might also want to add in one of these beautiful scented candles from Mama Mio. The Gravida Candle is fragranced with 10 pregnancy specific essential oils to easer her mind, clear the air and her head. This is a natural candle, made of best natural waxes and soy wax, so no worries about additional pollutants.
Many women's sense of smell increases when they are pregnant, and they find scents and perfumes hard to cope with. No need for her to miss out on a bit of pampering though. This Pure & Beautiful gift set from Green People gives her gorgeous organic skincare that is fragrance free. This set gives her a beautiful facial cleanser, and a 24 hour moisturiser. Skin can also get more sensitive during pregnancy, and so these mild formulations may be just the thing.
Being pregnant is a time for reassessment, and many women really look at all the things they put into, and on their bodies. So, if she's turning organic in every other area of her life, treat her to some gorgeous organic toiletries from Origins. This massage oil is perfect for keeping skin well moistursed in an attempt to ward off stretch marks, and meets the exacting standards of the Soil Association for organic accreditation.

Time to Chill - or giving her the gift of some great nights in!
Set her up for as good a nights sleep as possible. Get her the comfy pillow, and then brew her up something like this Dreamtime Tea from Whittard. It contains honey, vanilla and apricot to comfort and soothe, whilst the camomile relaxes aching bones. If you think she'd like something even more indulgent, then there is also a hot chocolate version.
If she is really looking for a chocolate hit, then we think this Deluxe Hot Chocolate Kit from Green & Blacks might just hit the mark. About as far away as you could get from powdered hot chocolate, this is truly delicious and worth lingering over! Includes a Bodum Chocolatier, and I think you'll find it makes enough for two. Just.
Whilst eating good, wholesome food is vital during pregnancy, there will be days, and nights, when you both just fancy not cooking. With Just Eat, you can now find a takeaway and order online, and get someone to pop round the house with it. Should you not fall into any of their areas, then check out Banquet in a Box, as these are definitely gourmet ready meals, you almost won't miss going out to a restaurant with these!
And if you're going to be tucked up with a takeaway, then you need something decent to watch. You could sign up for a subscription service with loveFILM, or just buy some good DVDs. Of course there's a whole range of chick flicks around, but we think you'd be hard pushed to beat three outings of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack. Not to mention Orlando Bloom, who's not a bad looking lad either!
So, now you're making sure she's really relaxed, perhaps you should make the most of it and whisk her away so you can both have some relaxing time together before the baby makes an appearance. Check out our best suggestions here.
