Flowers and Valentine's Day go hand in hand, as does the price of red roses rising to extortionate levels. There again, the man in your life might not be thrilled with whatever flowers you send, so you could send him something a little more unique. We like this bay tree from Crocus. Jewellery is always a popular choice at Valentine's Day! For the guys, a stunning watch is always a good choice. If you've only got together recently, then Valentine's Day can be difficult. It would be churlish to forget the day (if you plan for this to be a longer term arrangement) and easy to overstep the mark. Chocolates might be a bit of a cliché, so how about sending him a box of nostalgic sweets? We don't know a guy who could resist these, with their cola bottles and sherbert fountains.

Fragrance is quite tricky, even after you've known each other quite some time. However, most men will wear a fragrance because a woman likes it. For something unique, then we would choose Molecule 01. Oh, and just be warned, the effect is supposed to be pheromonic! 

How about buying him a gift experience? You might think you don't know him well enough to know what he'd like, so why not pick something a bit off beat, and even something you could go do together. Just because he's green doesn't mean you can't celebrate in style. Serge Faust's vineyards were certified organic back in 1969 and have been producing a wonderful champagne ever since. Aged for three years, the wine has a rich, full flavour and creamy texture. You could also add in some divine truffles from Booja Booja which are not only organic but vegan as well. But they don't go short on the taste front!

Maybe he would prefer that you spread the love around a bit? Not literally obviously, but by buying a charitable gift. I mean you could go for something like a gift of condoms for an African village from Oxfam Unwrapped. Or a Change the World for 12 months voucher, for a gift that keeps on giving. If he's more into wildlife, then there are great options too, from WWF or the RSPB.
